The Council for Accreditation of Canadian University Programs in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (CACUP-ASLP) was established in 2005 to conduct comprehensive reviews of individual university programs in audiology and speech-language pathology relative to a set of national standards. The first review was conducted in 2006, another was conducted in 2007, and two reviews are in progress in 2008-09. The remaining programs are scheduled for an initial review by CACUP-ASLP by 2011. The CACUP-ASLP replaced an accreditation program established by the Canadian Council of University Programs – Communication Sciences and Disorders. Three accreditation reviews were conducted by CCUP-CSD. The results of these reviews were accepted by CACUP-ASLP and the dates used to determine the timing of CACUP-ASLP reviews. All university programs in speech-language pathology and audiology that were full members of the CCUP-CSD at the time CACUP-ASLP was established were deemed Accreditation Eligible. New programs that are established after May 2005 must apply to CACUP-ASLP for determination of accreditation eligibility. The accreditation status of each program that has been reviewed and a list of scheduled review dates are shown in the table below Accreditation Status and Review Schedule
